Undercover Floor Walker (Supermarket)

You'll catch shoplifting and stock losses at a building-supplies store in Vanderbijlpark before they cost jobs. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a building-supplies store in Vanderbijlpark. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots
• Share trends with the store manager each week
• Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers
• Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour
• Attend court as a witness when a case goes to trial
• Detain suspects lawfully and call SAPS, then write a statement

• Able to handle confrontation calmly
• Discreet, observant and honest
• Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act
• Available for retail hours including month-end weekends
• Good report writing
• PSIRA registration, Grade C at least

• Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
• Understanding of stock systems and shrinkage reports

• Staff discount at the retailer
• Retail trading hours, no night shift in most stores
