Job Description

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a mixed-use neighbourhood in Umhlanga. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The site is in Umhlanga; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

The work, day to day

Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details

What you need

SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
At least 2 years in guarding or response
Calm under pressure and physically fit

Nice if you have

Advanced driving course
SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
