Tracking Control Room Agent (Vehicle Recovery)

You'll watch the screens and radios at a vehicle tracking control centre in Prospecton, and send help the moment something is wrong. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is in Prospecton (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians
• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change

• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)

• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Shift allowance for nights
• Training on the monitoring software

• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
