Job Description

You'll build parts or whole vehicles on a moving line at the wiring harness factory in Kariega. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The site is in Kariega; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

The work, day to day

  • Assemble components at your station within the line cycle time
  • Keep your station clean using 5S rules
  • Check parts for defects before they go into the vehicle
  • Pull the andon cord when a defect or safety issue appears
  • Follow standard work sheets and quality checkpoints at every step
  • Rotate between stations as the team leader plans

You'll need

  • Able to stand for a full shift and do repeat tasks without losing focus
  • Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights
  • Lives close enough to reach the plant on time for every shift
  • Good eyesight and hand coordination
  • Able to pass a basic literacy and numeracy test

Extra points for

  • NQF 2 in Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly through merSETA
  • Basic computer skills
