Assembly Line Worker (Furniture Plant) – Fixed-Term

You'll keep the line running at a snack food factory in Alberton, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Alberton-based, with most of your time spent at a snack food factory. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley

• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded

• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
• A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate

• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets

• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
