Assembly Line Worker (Furniture Plant)

You'll keep the line running at a furniture assembly factory in Prospecton, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Prospecton. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
• Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet

• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start

• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine

• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Company transport on some night shifts
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets

• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
