Job Description

You'll keep the line running at a soft drink bottling plant in Sandton, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a soft drink bottling plant on the Sandton side of Gauteng. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product

You'll need

You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check

Nice if you have

Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
