Machine Assistant (Plastics Moulding)

Machines set the pace at this snack food factory in Fourways; you keep up and catch the faults. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Fourways-based, with most of your time spent at a snack food factory.

• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
• Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines

• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection

• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Path to machine operator after six months

• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
