Assessor and Moderator (Services SETA)

You'll train adult learners at a manufacturing plant training room in Pinetown and get them through their qualification. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is a manufacturing plant training room on the Pinetown side of KwaZulu-Natal. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Load learner results onto the SETA or QCTO system
• Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better
• Develop lesson plans, case studies and assessment guides
• Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners
• Coach learners who are behind and plan re-assessments
• Keep attendance registers and learner files ready for SETA verification

• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Own transport for training at client sites
• Registered assessor, with moderator registration for moderator posts
• Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults
• Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
• Good report writing and record keeping

• Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle
• SDF registration and WSP/ATR submission experience
• Teaching qualification or Higher Certificate in adult education

• Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
• Paid re-registration with your SETA
• Travel allowance or company car for site training

• Say which unit standards or occupational qualifications you're registered for; this decides where you can be used.
• For TVET posts, attach your teaching qualification too, as colleges score it during shortlisting.
