Assessor and Moderator (Services SETA)

You'll train adult learners at an accredited training provider in Secunda and get them through their qualification. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Secunda-based, with most of your time spent at an accredited training provider. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Coach learners who are behind and plan re-assessments
• Run practical demonstrations in the workshop with safety briefings
• Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners
• Keep attendance registers and learner files ready for SETA verification
• Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better
• Load learner results onto the SETA or QCTO system

• At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field
• Own transport for training at client sites
• Good report writing and record keeping
• Registered assessor, with moderator registration for moderator posts
• Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach

• Trade test certificate for artisan training posts
• SDF registration and WSP/ATR submission experience
• Experience with QCTO occupational qualifications

• Paid re-registration with your SETA
• Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
• Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges
• Travel allowance or company car for site training

• For TVET posts, attach your teaching qualification too, as colleges score it during shortlisting.
• Put your assessor registration number and the SETA it sits with at the top of your CV.
