Assistant Accountant (Audit Firm Client Services) – Permanent

A logistics company in Isando needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The work is in Isando, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Review creditors, debtors and payroll journals from the clerks
• Build budgets and rolling forecasts with department heads
• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Track stock costing, standard costs and production variances

• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs

• Consolidation experience across several companies
• CIMA qualification for management accounting posts
