Assistant Site Agent (Roads & Stormwater)

You'll run the site day to day for the retail and commercial builder in Bellville, from setting out to handover. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a retail and commercial builder on the Bellville side of Western Cape. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Check workmanship against drawings, specifications and SANS 10400
• Set out foundations, grid lines and levels with the surveyor or a dumpy level
• Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages
• Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
• Keep the site diary, daily labour returns and plant hours up to date
• Draw up snag lists and close them out before practical completion

• Firm with labour, fair with subcontractors
• You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
• Good with MS Project or a similar programme tool
• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
• Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites
• At least 5 years on building or civil sites, 2 of them in a supervisory post

• Cellphone and laptop supplied
