Assistant Site Agent (Roads & Stormwater) – Immediate Start

This road and stormwater contractor in Stellenbosch needs someone who can read the drawings and get a building out of the ground. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The site is in Stellenbosch; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Check workmanship against drawings, specifications and SANS 10400
• Plan the week's work from the construction programme and brief the gangs each morning
• Run toolbox talks and support the safety officer on Construction Regulations compliance
• Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages
• Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates
• Order concrete, bricks and steel on time so gangs never stand idle

• Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act
• Firm with labour, fair with subcontractors
• At least 5 years on building or civil sites, 2 of them in a supervisory post
• Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites
• You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
• Good with MS Project or a similar programme tool

• Concrete technology short course
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Manager or Candidate

• Vehicle allowance or company bakkie
• Project completion bonus linked to handover date
