Automatic Gearbox Technician – Immediate Start

This independent service workshop in Tzaneen needs a qualified mechanic who can handle services, repairs and electrical faults. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The site is in Tzaneen; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

• Quote extra work you find and pass it to the service advisor for approval
• Keep your bay, tools and special service tools clean and counted
• Update control unit software when the manufacturer releases a campaign
• Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval
• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs
• Carry out roadworthy pre-checks on lights, brakes and steering

• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
• Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4
• Your own basic toolbox
• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets

• Automatic gearbox or DSG repair experience
• Brand-specific training certificates from a manufacturer academy
