Bakery Production Hand (Early Shift) – Permanent

Here in Bellville, an industrial bakery needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The work is in Bellville, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects

• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage

• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed

• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Path to machine operator after six months
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets

• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
