Bakery Production Hand (Early Shift)

You'll keep the line running at a snack food factory in Fourways, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a snack food factory in Fourways. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones

• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area

• Some basic first-aid training
• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine

• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Staff shop with discounted factory products

• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
