Bar Attendant (Weekend Shift)

Good service at a beachfront cocktail bar in Germiston starts with you: friendly, quick and on top of every order. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Germiston-based, with most of your time spent at a beachfront cocktail bar. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
• Mix cocktails, pour draught and serve shooters to spec at the bar.
• Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.
• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.
• Split bills, process card payments and handle tip-outs at the end of shift.

• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts
• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays

• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Paid menu and wine tastings so you can sell with confidence

• Walk in with your CV between 2pm and 4pm when managers have time, not during lunch or dinner service.
• Put the names of the restaurants you worked at and your average covers per shift at the top of your CV.
