Job Description

Build the SQL, models and dashboards that run the weekly meeting at a telecoms provider in Johannesburg CBD. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a telecoms provider on the Johannesburg CBD side of Gauteng. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Present findings to managers in plain language with clear charts
Write SQL to pull, join and clean data from several sources
Build simple forecasting and segmentation models in Python or R
Automate weekly reports that used to take hours in Excel
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models
Check data quality and trace odd numbers back to the source

You'll need

Degree in statistics, maths, computer science, economics or a related field
Hands-on Power BI, Tableau or a similar tool
Advanced Excel
Strong SQL, including joins, window functions and CTEs
Able to explain what the numbers mean, not just show them

Helpful, not essential

Python with pandas for data wrangling
Microsoft PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst certification
