Bookkeeper to Trial Balance (Sage Pastel)

A construction contractor in Bellville needs a bookkeeper who closes the month on time, every month. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is Bellville-based, with most of your time spent at a construction contractor. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Prepare VAT201 workings for the accountant to submit on SARS eFiling
• Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation
• Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days
• Update customer credit limits and put accounts on hold when needed

• Matric with Accounting
• Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas
• Understanding of VAT input and output rules
• Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
• Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)

• Registered with SAIPA or the ICB as a bookkeeper
• Experience with inventory costing in a trading business

• Paid study leave for bookkeeping exams
• Office hours with no weekend work
• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
