Job Description

You'll keep the books clean and up to date for a wholesale distributor in Mossel Bay. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Location: Mossel Bay, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
Reconcile bank accounts daily and clear unallocated items
Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation
Reconcile creditors statements and sort out differences with suppliers

You'll need

Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details
At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
Matric with Accounting
Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas

Extra points for

Knowledge of Sage Evolution or QuickBooks
Experience with inventory costing in a trading business
