Job Description

Every invoice, payment and bank line at this small accounting practice in Bellville goes through your hands. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Location: Bellville, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation
Reconcile creditors statements and sort out differences with suppliers
Match orders, delivery notes and invoices before a payment goes out
Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
Reconcile bank accounts daily and clear unallocated items

You'll need

Understanding of VAT input and output rules
Matric with Accounting
Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details
Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work

Nice if you have

Experience with debt collection letters and handover to attorneys
Registered with SAIPA or the ICB as a bookkeeper
Experience with inventory costing in a trading business
