Job Description

Clients sleep better when their tax is sorted, and an import and export trading house in Montague Gardens needs you to sort it. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at an import and export trading house in Montague Gardens. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What your day looks like

Register clients for income tax, VAT and PAYE
Advise on deductions such as retirement contributions and home office claims
Check SARS assessments and flag errors to clients
Prepare and submit ITR12, ITR14 and ITR12T returns on SARS eFiling
Draft objections and appeals with supporting schedules
Track filing season deadlines and send reminders to clients
Prepare VAT201 returns and review input tax claims

What you need

Comfortable handling tax season overtime
At least 2 years of SARS eFiling experience
Clear writing for SARS letters and objections
Working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and VAT Act
Registered tax practitioner with a recognised controlling body such as SAIT or SAIPA
Degree or diploma in accounting or tax

Nice if you have

Customs and excise knowledge for import-export clients
Tax software experience such as TaxShop or CaseWare
