Bookkeeper to Trial Balance (Sage Pastel) – Entry Level

A motor dealership in Springs needs a bookkeeper who closes the month on time, every month. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a motor dealership on the Springs side of Gauteng.

• Reconcile creditors statements and sort out differences with suppliers
• Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days
• Prepare VAT201 workings for the accountant to submit on SARS eFiling
• Run petty cash and file slips with proper supporting documents
• Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
• Match orders, delivery notes and invoices before a payment goes out

• Bookkeeping certificate or diploma (ICB, FASSET learnership or similar)
• Understanding of VAT input and output rules
• Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
• Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details
• Good with Excel: VLOOKUP, pivot tables and simple formulas
• Matric with Accounting

• Knowledge of Sage Evolution or QuickBooks
• Experience with inventory costing in a trading business

• Office hours with no weekend work
• Paid study leave for bookkeeping exams
• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
