Boom Gate Controller (Industrial Park)

Steady 12-hour shifts at a construction yard in Pretoria West for PSIRA-registered officers. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll be based at a construction yard in Pretoria West. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it

• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Clean criminal record

• First-aid Level 1 certificate
• Previous experience at a similar site type
• Firefighting or evacuation training

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
