Boom Gate Controller (Industrial Park)

Residents and staff at a distribution warehouse in Rosslyn need to feel safe when they arrive; that is your job. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a distribution warehouse on the Rosslyn side of Gauteng.

• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors

• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Speaks and writes basic English

• Firefighting or evacuation training
• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers
• Previous experience at a similar site type

• Stable long-term site contracts
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Provident fund contributions

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
