Boom Gate Controller (Industrial Park) – Entry Level

You'll control who comes in and out of an office tower in Rosslyn, and log every visitor properly. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Rosslyn-based, with most of your time spent at an office tower.

• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register

• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Speaks and writes basic English

• First-aid Level 1 certificate
• Previous experience at a similar site type

• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
• Arrive for the interview in neat clothes with your certificates in a plastic sleeve. It shows the discipline they want.
