Job Description

You'll cook fast, clean food on the line at a casual dining restaurant in Brakpan. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a casual dining restaurant in Brakpan. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

What you'll actually do

Plate to the spec photo so every dish looks the same.
Clean down your section, deep-clean the fryer and scrub the extractor filters.
Train the kitchen assistants on knife safety and prep standards.
Run your station during service and call back every ticket from the pass.
Help cost recipes and track waste on the weekly sheet.

You'll need

Weekend, holiday and evening work is part of the deal
You know food safety basics under R638 and HACCP
1 to 3 years in a busy commercial kitchen
A culinary certificate or City & Guilds, or solid on-the-job experience
Good knife skills and you can prep at speed
You take instruction from the head chef without drama
