Job Description

Guests at this sports bar and grill in Germiston come back for the people, and you'll be one of the reasons. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a sports bar and grill on the Germiston side of Gauteng.

What you'll actually do

Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.
Clear, wipe and reset tables fast during the Friday and Sunday rush.
Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.
Mix cocktails, pour draught and serve shooters to spec at the bar.
Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.

You'll need

Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests
Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays
Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts
Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure

Extra points for

A second language such as isiZulu, isiXhosa or Afrikaans
Responsible Service of Alcohol training
Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint
