Job Description

Guests at this wine farm restaurant in Vereeniging come back for the people, and you'll be one of the reasons. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The site is in Vereeniging; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

The work, day to day

Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.
Restock the bar fridges and help with the weekly stock count.
Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
Mix cocktails, pour draught and serve shooters to spec at the bar.
Clear, wipe and reset tables fast during the Friday and Sunday rush.
Pull espresso shots and steam milk for flat whites and cappuccinos.

You'll need

Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays
Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts
Quick with basic maths and card machines
You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift

Helpful, not essential

A second language such as isiZulu, isiXhosa or Afrikaans
Responsible Service of Alcohol training
