Bricklayer (Face Brick & Plaster Brick) – Experienced

You'll build it with your hands: walls, floors, roofs and finishes on the low-cost housing project in Bellville. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The work is in Bellville, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

• Tile floors, showers and splashbacks, including cutting around fittings
• Lay paving on a compacted, levelled bedding sand layer
• Carry bricks and materials to the workface and keep the scaffold clear
• Clean your tools and sweep your work area before knocking off
• Build and strip formwork for columns, beams and slabs
• Wear your hard hat, boots and harness wherever the foreman says
• Cut, bend and tie reinforcing steel to the bending schedule

• Physically strong enough for a full day of lifting and bending outside
• Safety boots of your own for the first week, if possible
• Punctual every morning, even in winter
• Understands basic site safety like scaffolds and open trenches

• Trade test in bricklaying, carpentry or plastering
• Your own trowels, levels and tile cutter
• CETA or NQF 2 or 3 certificate in your trade

• PPE supplied: hard hat, gloves, reflective vest
• Chance to move up to a gang leader post
• UIF and COIDA registration from day one
• Transport from a pick-up point to site

• Bring photos of your work on your phone. A foreman believes a straight wall more than a long CV.
• Be ready to do a short practical test on site. Arrive early with your own tools if you have them.
