Building Site Supervisor (Commercial Projects) – Experienced

Keep the programme on track, the subbies busy and the site safe for the road and stormwater contractor in Phalaborwa. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Location: Phalaborwa, Limpopo. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Chair the weekly site meeting and record actions for the principal agent
• Check reinforcing, shuttering and cover blocks before calling for a pour inspection
• Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates
• Draw up snag lists and close them out before practical completion
• Order concrete, bricks and steel on time so gangs never stand idle
• Set out foundations, grid lines and levels with the surveyor or a dumpy level
• Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages

• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
• You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
• Firm with labour, fair with subcontractors
• Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites

• Surveying skills with a total station
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Manager or Candidate
• Concrete technology short course

• Project completion bonus linked to handover date

• Site accommodation on out-of-town projects
