Quantity Surveyor (Building Contractor) – Immediate Start

You'll measure, price and manage the money on building projects for the property development company in Polokwane. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Polokwane. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line

• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor

• Study support for an honours degree
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
