Business Studies Lecturer (Private College)

You'll train adult learners at a manufacturing plant training room in Coega and get them through their qualification. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at a manufacturing plant training room in Coega. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Facilitate classroom and workplace sessions against the learning programme
• Load learner results onto the SETA or QCTO system
• Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners
• Sit in on workplace visits to confirm learners are doing real tasks
• Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better

• Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
• Registered assessor, with moderator registration for moderator posts
• At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field
• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Own transport for training at client sites
• Good report writing and record keeping

• Teaching qualification or Higher Certificate in adult education
• Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle
• Trade test certificate for artisan training posts

• Paid re-registration with your SETA
• Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
• Travel allowance or company car for site training
• Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges

• Show your industry years separately from your training years; providers need both.
• Put your assessor registration number and the SETA it sits with at the top of your CV.
