Job Description

An e-commerce platform in Mthatha needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Home base is an e-commerce platform on the Mthatha side of Eastern Cape.

The work, day to day

Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind

Must-haves

Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Experience writing automated tests
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days

Helpful, not essential

Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
Docker and Kubernetes experience
