Job Description

Court runs, drafting and client consultations: a small general practice law firm in George will put you to work from week one. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a small general practice law firm on the George side of Western Cape.

What you'll actually do

Study for the LPC competency-based examinations alongside the work
Appear in the magistrate's court on postponements and unopposed matters
Attend court with counsel and take notes during trials
Draft letters of demand, summonses and particulars of claim
Prepare affidavits and notices of motion for your principal to review

What you need

LLB degree from a South African university
Willing to work late before trials and filing deadlines
Ready to sign a practical vocational training contract registered with the LPC
Good legal research and clear written English

Nice if you have

Vacation work at a law firm
Moot court or legal clinic experience
