Court runs, drafting and client consultations: a small general practice law firm in Mokopane will put you to work from week one. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a small general practice law firm on the Mokopane side of Limpopo. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Study for the LPC competency-based examinations alongside the work
• Prepare trial bundles and discovery affidavits
• Keep matter files updated and diarise court dates and deadlines
• Draft letters of demand, summonses and particulars of claim
• Appear in the magistrate's court on postponements and unopposed matters
• Issue and serve documents at the magistrate's court and High Court
• Record your time on the practice management system every day

• Clear criminal record, as required for admission
• Willing to work late before trials and filing deadlines
• Ready to sign a practical vocational training contract registered with the LPC
• LLB degree from a South African university
• Proficient in Word, Outlook and legal research databases

• Moot court or legal clinic experience
• Second official language used by the firm's clients

• Mentorship from an experienced principal
• Paid PLT course fees at some firms
• Travel allowance for court runs

• Put your LLB, university and graduation year at the top, and your average mark if it's above 65%.
