Candidate Attorney (Family Law) – Immediate Start

Get real court exposure and supervision at a labour law practice in Rosslyn while you prepare for board exams. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Rosslyn-based, with most of your time spent at a labour law practice. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Prepare affidavits and notices of motion for your principal to review
• Take instructions from clients and write clear attendance notes
• Issue and serve documents at the magistrate's court and High Court
• Attend court with counsel and take notes during trials
• Draft letters of demand, summonses and particulars of claim
• Appear in the magistrate's court on postponements and unopposed matters

• LLB degree from a South African university
• Ready to sign a practical vocational training contract registered with the LPC
• Good legal research and clear written English
• Willing to work late before trials and filing deadlines

• Paid PLT course fees at some firms
• Study leave for board exams
• Mentorship from an experienced principal

• Put your LLB, university and graduation year at the top, and your average mark if it's above 65%.
• Apply early in the year, as most firms fill articles from January to March.
