Job Description

Court runs, drafting and client consultations: a labour law practice in Pretoria East will put you to work from week one. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a labour law practice on the Pretoria East side of Gauteng.

The work, day to day

Prepare trial bundles and discovery affidavits
Prepare affidavits and notices of motion for your principal to review
Record your time on the practice management system every day
Study for the LPC competency-based examinations alongside the work
Appear in the magistrate's court on postponements and unopposed matters

What you need

Ready to sign a practical vocational training contract registered with the LPC
Code B driver's licence and a reliable car for court runs
Clear criminal record, as required for admission
Good legal research and clear written English
Proficient in Word, Outlook and legal research databases
LLB degree from a South African university

Helpful, not essential

Moot court or legal clinic experience
Second official language used by the firm's clients
