Job Description

Get real court exposure and supervision at a commercial law firm in Umhlanga while you prepare for board exams. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The work is in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

The work, day to day

Study for the LPC competency-based examinations alongside the work
Keep matter files updated and diarise court dates and deadlines
Record your time on the practice management system every day
Attend court with counsel and take notes during trials
Prepare affidavits and notices of motion for your principal to review

You'll need

Willing to work late before trials and filing deadlines
Proficient in Word, Outlook and legal research databases
Clear criminal record, as required for admission
Good legal research and clear written English
LLB degree from a South African university

Helpful, not essential

Second official language used by the firm's clients
Vacation work at a law firm
