Candidate Civil Engineer (ECSA) – Immediate Start

This structural design practice in Centurion needs someone who can check a design and then go and check it was built right. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Centurion; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Work out loads to SANS 10160 for buildings and structures
• Write design reports and handover documents
• Design water pipelines, sewers and stormwater systems with hydraulic software
• Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts
• Design reinforced concrete and steel structures to SANS 10100 and SANS 10162
• Apply for municipal wayleaves and building plan approvals

• Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate
• BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering
• Good grasp of South African design codes for your field
• Able to explain technical issues to clients and contractors
• Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site

• Contract management training for NEC or GCC
• Registration with SAICE and active CPD

• Site allowance when you work as resident engineer
