Job Description

Power has to be safe, reliable and legal. The manufacturing plant in Boksburg needs you to make it so. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a manufacturing plant on the Boksburg side of Gauteng. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What your day looks like

Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
Set and test protection relays and keep settings records
Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser

Must-haves

ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations

Helpful, not essential

Protection or HV operating authorisation
PLC programming certification
