Candidate Electrical Engineer (ECSA)

Power has to be safe, reliable and legal. The manufacturing plant in Krugersdorp needs you to make it so. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a manufacturing plant on the Krugersdorp side of Gauteng. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
• Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
• Set and test protection relays and keep settings records
• Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
• Draw up tender specifications and bills of quantities for electrical works
• Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser

• ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
• Able to write clear technical reports and specifications

• Clear path to associate or senior engineer
• Paid professional registration and training
• Flexible hours on design days
• Vehicle allowance for site work

• Name the software you use for power system studies and lighting design. Consultants screen for exact tools.
• List projects with their voltage level, size in kVA or MW, and whether you designed, supervised or commissioned.
