Job Description

You'll design and supervise infrastructure people use every day, with the civil engineering consultancy in Johannesburg CBD. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is in Johannesburg CBD (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

The work, day to day

Act as resident engineer: inspect works, measure quantities and certify payments
Work out loads to SANS 10160 for buildings and structures
Write design reports and handover documents
Apply for municipal wayleaves and building plan approvals
Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue

You'll need

Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site
At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
Good grasp of South African design codes for your field
Experience with structural or hydraulic design software

Nice if you have

Registration with SAICE and active CPD
Experience on public sector infrastructure projects
