Candidate Electrical Engineer (ECSA) – Fixed-Term

You'll design, protect and maintain electrical systems for the manufacturing plant in Krugersdorp. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a manufacturing plant in Krugersdorp. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
• Size cables, transformers and protection using design software
• Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms
• Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
• Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
• Set and test protection relays and keep settings records
• Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion

• Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
• BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
• Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
• Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate

• Clear path to associate or senior engineer
• Paid professional registration and training
• Vehicle allowance for site work
