Job Description

The manufacturing plant in Lephalale needs an electrical engineer for projects that go from design to commissioning. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a manufacturing plant in Lephalale. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

Draw up tender specifications and bills of quantities for electrical works
Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms
Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
Set and test protection relays and keep settings records
Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres

Must-haves

ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites

Helpful, not essential

Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)
Protection or HV operating authorisation
