Control and Instrumentation Engineer

You'll design, protect and maintain electrical systems for the manufacturing plant in Lephalale. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Lephalale-based, with most of your time spent at a manufacturing plant. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
• Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
• Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
• Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
• Draw up tender specifications and bills of quantities for electrical works

• Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
• Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
• BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts

• Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)
• Protection or HV operating authorisation
• Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW

• Paid professional registration and training
• Clear path to associate or senior engineer
• Vehicle allowance for site work
• Flexible hours on design days
