Job Description

The water treatment utility in Middelburg (MP) needs an electrical engineer for projects that go from design to commissioning. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is in Middelburg (MP) (Mpumalanga). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms

What you need

Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package

Nice if you have

Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)
PLC programming certification
