Job Description

The manufacturing plant in Midrand needs an electrical engineer for projects that go from design to commissioning. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a manufacturing plant in Midrand. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

The work, day to day

Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
Draw up tender specifications and bills of quantities for electrical works
Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion

You'll need

Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites

Helpful, not essential

PLC programming certification
Protection or HV operating authorisation
