Candidate Electrical Engineer (ECSA)

The solar and battery project developer in Vanderbijlpark needs an electrical engineer for projects that go from design to commissioning. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The site is in Vanderbijlpark; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
• Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
• Size cables, transformers and protection using design software
• Investigate power quality problems with a power analyser
• Set and test protection relays and keep settings records
• Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097

• Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
• BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
• Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package

• PLC programming certification
• Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)
• Protection or HV operating authorisation

• Flexible hours on design days

• Paid professional registration and training
