Job Description

Power has to be safe, reliable and legal. The water treatment utility in Boksburg needs you to make it so. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Home base is a water treatment utility on the Boksburg side of Gauteng. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
Draw up tender specifications and bills of quantities for electrical works
Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres
Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
Review PLC and SCADA logic for process control and alarms

You'll need

Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
Able to write clear technical reports and specifications

Helpful, not essential

PLC programming certification
Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)
Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
